Spiritual Breakthrough - A Time for Fasting and Praying

In the inward man lies a genuine desire for a deeper relationship with The Lord and knowledge of His perfect will. Fasting has been the secret for the people of God to obtaining miraculous provisions, favor and even healing in their lives. Every assignment in your life has a birthplace. God has His will for your life. God has placed His will inside of you and only He can make possible with fasting and prayer.

Mark 9:28-29

As a Man of God, when I feel myself growing dry spiritually and can’t hear what I should be hearing, or I don’t sense that cutting-edge anointing or when I need a fresh encounter with God, fasting is the key that unlocks heaven’s doors. The discipline of fasting releases the anointing of God, the favor and the blessings of God in the life of a Christian.

Matthew 5:6 NASU

Most importantly as you read your bible and walk with The Lord, you will develop a hunger to fast. There are things in your life that need to be broken off you, your children and your church family. All these things and people need the God kind of attention. There are things that God desires to release in our life, and there is a great desperation for these things that are gripping our heart.

Ps 42:1-3 NASU

People of God fasting is a simple biblical practice of reframing from food and not just food, but other things for a spiritual purpose and breakthrough. There are times fasting is not merely going without food for a period of time; David said in Psalms 42 that fasting is a normal part of a relationship with God: because it brings you into a deeper more intimate and powerful relationship  and walk with The Lord.

Ps 35:11-13

Ps 69:9-12

When we eliminate food and other things from our diet for a number of days, our spirit becomes uncluttered from the things of this world and amazingly sensitive to the things of God.

As David stated: “The deep calls unto the deep.”

Psalms 42:7

When David was fasting, his hunger and thirst for God was greater than his natural desire for food, and as a result of him fasting, he reached a place where he could cry out from the depths

of his spirit to the depths of God, even in the midst of his trials. People of God once we experience a glimpse of that kind of intimacy with our God – our Father – our Lord – our Holy Creator, countless rewards and blessings will follow and our whole perspective about life will change. People of God, you must realize that fasting and praying unto The Lord was the ultimate source of power that brought breakthrough.

The bible says when Esther made a decision to face all dangers for her people she called for a fast.

Esther 4:15-17

After Esther had fasted her courage came up in her she said, “If I perish, but the fast gave her favor with God and the King on behalf of her people.

Esther 5:1-3

It’s time to be like Esther and face your mountain and watch your God do the same for you.
